AFCAT 2 2017 Exam Notification is officially out – Check Exam Dates

Want to make your career path in Indian Air Force? Target the AFCAT august exam. Apply and fill the online application form, know exam date, eligibility criteria, exam syllabus & pattern.

The online application process for Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) began from June 3rd. Interested aspirants can go through the listed eligibility criteria and accordingly register for the test.

Eligibility Criteria

Flying Branch
Academic Qualification Graduation (min 3 years) in any discipline with min 60% marks and have passed Maths and Physics as subject at 10+2 level OR B.E/ B.Tech from a recognized University with min 60% marks.
Age Limit 20 to 24 years as on 01.07.2017 (born between 02.07.1993 to 01.07.1997 including both dates). Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and Current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxed up to 26 years i.e. born between 02.07.1991 to 01.07.1997 (both dates inclusive).
Min. Height 162.5 cms with correlated weight
Min. Vision 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other
Technical Branch
Academic Qualification 4 year degree qualification or have cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India with 60% marks
Age Limit 20 to 26 years on 01.07.2017 (born between 02.07.1991 to 01.07.1997 including both dates)
Min. Height 157.5 cms with correlated weight, women – 152 cms
Ground Duty Branch
Academic Qualification Graduate degree (Min 3 years) in any discipline with min 60% marks or equivalent or cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India with a min of 60% marks or equivalent. for Administration and Logistics posts. B.Com (Min 3 years) with min 60% marks for Accounts posts. MBA / MCA or MA / M Sc degree in English / Physics / Mathematics / Chemistry / Statistics / International relations / International studies / Defence studies / Psychology / Computer Science / IT / Management / Mass Communication / Journalism / Public Relation with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate all paper put together in Post Graduation (Minimum two year programme) and 60% marks in graduation for Education posts
Age Limit 20 to 26 years on 01.07.2017 (born between 02.07.1991 to 01.07.1997 including both dates)
Min. Height 157.5 cms with correlated weight, women – 152 cms
  • Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) will also be conducted for Ground Duty (Technical) branch along with AFCAT.
  • Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) would be for 45 minutes and conducted immediately after AFCAT. It is mandatory for the candidates opting for ground duty (technical) branch to pass both AFCAT & EKT.
  • Candidates, who have failed the PABT test earlier, are not eligible for this exam.
  • Final year students can also apply for AFCAT 2017 exam given that they have secured 60% marks in aggregate with no present backlog and must be able to provide provisional or original degree certificate before commencing the training (July 2018).

How To Apply

  • Open the official website of Indian Air Force i.e careerairforce.nic.in
  • Find the link “Candidate login”
  • Select “AFCAT Entry”
  • Click on the option “New Candidate”
  • Fill up the specified fields with relevant details.
  • Once the registration process gets completed, a user ID and password will be sent to the candidate’s registered email ID.
  • Now “login for online application” by using the same user ID and password.
  • Fill up the application form along with requisite details and upload your thumb impression, recent passport size photograph and signature.
  • After completion of filling up process of the application form take a print out for the same.
  • Once the application process gets completed, you’ll receive a registered ID to your mail.
