Bilateral Military Exercise Between IAF and US

The Air Forces of India (IAF) and US start the ‘Ex Cope India-18’ in the Kalaikunda and Panagarh air bases in West Bengal on December 3, 2018. This 12-day military exercise is the fourth edition in the series of bilateral drills between the Indian Air Force and the U.S. Air Force.

15 States Benefitted so far Under the Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana

The scheme also known as Saubhagya, has so far released 2.1 crore connections. The Union Minister of State for Power and Renewable Energy, R.K. Singh announced that 8 more states have achieved 100 percent household electrification, on November 29, 2018. This takes up the count to 15 states in India which have benefited under the PM’s scheme.


NASA Explorer on Mars

NASA’s InSight explorer successfully touched down on Mars, after an almost seven-month journey on November 26, 2018. This is the eighth time in human history that NASA has executed a successful landing on the red planet. The NASA operated explorer has been built by scientists in the United States, France and Germany.

ISRO Launches Hyperspectral Imaging Satellite (HySSIS)

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched a hyperspectral imaging satellite (HySIS) from Sriharikota launch centre in Andhra Pradesh. The HySSIS, an earth observation satellite along with 30 foreign commercial satellites, was launched on November 29, 2018.

‘Mission Raksha Gyan Shakti’ Launched

The mission was launched by the Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on November 27, 2018. It will boost the Intellectual Property Right (IPR) in the defence industry. At the event, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) and Ordnance Factories (OFs) showcased inventions that have been successfully filed for IPR.
